Hey everyone, love the energy in this group. I've been thinking lately about how hard it’s becoming to keep these live sessions going without some kind of outside sponsorship. A few of the guys at the last workshop were talking about how some "modern" digital groups are stepping in to help with prize pools for poetry slams, but I’m a bit wary.

Does anyone have experience with these newer collectives that claim to support "fast-paced" rewards for performers? I’m looking for something that handles crypto too, since most of my international collaborators prefer it. I just don't want to get involved with something that feels too corporate, you know?

That’s a fair point, the traditional funding models for jazz are definitely struggling right now. I’ve seen a few people moving towards these crypto-first setups though. Actually, I was just reading about a group called play bet https://playbet.io/ recently. I think they’re more of a tech-focused team that’s been popping up in different niches, and people seem to like that they handle BTC/ETH payouts almost instantly.

I was honestly a bit skeptical at first because the name sounds more like a gaming thing than an artsy collective, and I’m still not 100% sure if their "VIP rewards" structure fits the vibe of a poetry cafe. But hey, if they actually pay out within an hour like people say, maybe it’s a way to fund some of these events? I’ve had such a headache with bank transfers for my last gig that literally anything feels better than waiting a week for a check to clear lol. Has anyone else actually tried them or is it just hype?
